I think I'd go with the Ruger GP-100 in .357.
Mine stainless steel with the full underlug and 6" bbl.
With Remington's 165-gr. hunting ammo, it'd be a good woods gun.

I'd say my Para P12.  Light aluminum frame and 12 rounds of .45 for protection.  Sweet.  G23 a close second as I wouldn't care if I bumped it or dropped it as much.

My sig trailside if the focus is for camping and food.

GLock 21, when you empty the mag of 45acp you can turn it around and use it as a club, it doesn't get better than that!
