Hey all!

Leaning toward purchasing a HK Tactical in .45 cal.  Anyone out there own one?  Anyone own a can to go with it?

Opinions wanted.  Thanks!

Even though I now carry 1911's, my HKs all rocked. If my hands were bigger, I'd still be carrying an HK. Ultra-reliable.

I own one. It has been a spectacular tool. Unfortunately, since I shoot 1911s exclusively, it has just been in my safe. I am selling it to make room for a Springfield Professional.

Be well!

Short of a Les Baer, H&K will be the most accrate gun out of the box you can buy. I own three, incrediable accuracy!

I got a tactical I love. I am saving up to buy a H&K .45 compact right now.
The only thing I don't like on the H&K's is the mag release.

3 different MP's I work w/ had the compact and full size HK's. the 45. cal ones jammed on hollow points and the 40. was unstoppable. i liked the 40. full size the best. the 45. was cool lookinfg and that's it. None of these guys still own them. Billy

I just sold my USP compact and I loved every minute of the three years I had it.  It cycled every type of ammo I could find with the exception of Wolf and AguilaIQ.
My cheapie Spanish 1911 fits my hands a little better.

My USP45 is awsome! Big as a brick, but sometimes thats a good thing. It's one of the best 45's out there in my opinion.

I have my share of HK's but the one I really love is the Tactical.  I seldom fire my other HK's or my Glocks now, but have about 5000 rds on the Tac.  If you want a polymer handgun  this should be on your final list to try out.  I eventually had a trigger job on the Tac, making it even more enjoyable.  A suppressor is next...

The mag release is a bitch with your thumb, but if you lear to use the trigger finger it kicks ass. Particularly on a large frame handgun, the average guy has a tough time operating any thumb operated mag release without changing his grip slightly. It becomes fairly simple and very fast to use the trigger finger without changing your grip. Of course periodically someone (some tactical ted range nazi) will accuse you of having your finger in the trigger guard during a reload.

I use the middle finger of my strong hand for the mag release.

I have small hands, and buy doing it that way, I don't need to shift my grip.

I love my TAC. Fantastic gun. I don't have a can yet.

I had an HK USP 45 for about a year.  It worked very well.  I didn't care for the large grip, plastic frame, and rough DA trigger pull and traded it for a new loaded stainless 1911.

My complaints were purely ergonomic.  From a mechanical reliability standpoint, it was super.
