I've been considering the purchase of a Glock, most likely 9mm, when I get home.

I'm a big fan of the 1911, and find it fits my hand better than any other gun gun out there (with the possible exception of the Baby Eagle .45). I was wondering what, if any, Glock models you have found fit your hand well and point naturally. I have had fit/pointaibilty issues with the 20 and 21, but have heard that the smaller (9mm/.40S&W) frames fit differentley.

Thanks,

While I am not a big 1911 fan, I find the smaller Glocks like the 19 or 23 feel better to me than the 17 or 22. I never notice the grip angle of the Glock until I shoot the fullsize models.

If you are looking for the best of worlds check out the 1911 style metal frame for the Glock built by CCF.

Looks good.

I really like the 19. My brother had one and I could hit anything with it. The only reason I dont like it is because of the safety.
Kind of like having the combination to a bank vault written on the door.

Everyone should have at least one GLOCK 19. I am about to buy my second.

Glock haters unite !!!!!! No seriously. Get a 19. I own a 21 and a 19. Love the guns. Cary the 19 more often than the fullsize 45acp  21.

I think it irrational to hate an inanimate object but I passionately dislike Glocks (while I openly respect their absurdly reliable nature).

I have smaller hands and I have found that the weapon feels terrible in my hands. It's unwieldy, blocky, the trigger is vulgar and the sites are completely unnatural to me. I have used the .40s on a few occasions, and while they MIGHT treat YOU substantially better than the 20/21, I have found them just as unwieldy.

I have had 12 Glocks in all of the sizes. I started out with the G19 but after trying all of the others I like the G17 and G22 the most. Those are the full size in 9mm and 40. I use the 9mm for IDPA and the 40 for carry. Best thing to do is pick a caliber and try the different sizes for hand fit.

I like the G19 more and more everytime I shoot one...and I generally consider myself a JMB kind of guy.

I'm in the same boat as you. 1911s fit in my hand and I shoot them well.

The big Glock .45s don't fit my hand. I've got a 19. It fits in my hand well enough to shoot it decent, though not as good as a 1911.

Also, if you're stuck on .45, try the 36. I think it's a touch slimmer than the 19/ 23 pistols. It doesn't hold very many rounds though.

There are plenty of other DA plastic pistols out there.

Not to mention metal ones like Sigs and CZs.

Why get a Glock when you already know it will Handicap you?

i love my 1911s--grip, trigger and everything

the only glocks that fit me just right are: compact, small bore/frames (G19 size); the full size, small bores also fit pretty well, expecially w/ the Hogue grips (G17)

the larger bores are a little more hand-filling and kinda big, but i can deal w/ em

the worst things about glocks are the trigger feel, the back hump (esp on the big bore ans subcompact  glocks), and i have a bad habit of riding "high thumbs" like on my 1911s

I have big hands and the G19 points instinctively for me. Can't say that about my 1911s yet though.

I also have a G17 that doesn't feel quite right, and a G21 that points well. Go figure.

I have my 1911 set up with an arched mainspring housing and a long trigger, it points just like my glock 36 and 19 do
