I have been looking around for a light for my g19. Local shop has the Glock lights on sale for 99$ + tax (92.95+shipping on topglock.com) and the streamlight m3 for $146 ($129 TG). Both appeared to be nice and bright.

I have noticed over the months browsing this board that a lot of guys do not like the glock light. Any reason? I thought it was plenty bright enough for my needs. Didn't seem any less bright than the m3. And I thought it felt better (IMO).

Do guys on here bash the glock light because "it isn't the best"?. I know a lot of products get bashed on this board because they are not the top of the line. What are the downfalls of the glock light?

I have the M3 tactical light on my Glock 23, nightstand gun.

It works.

All I will be using the light for is a night stand gun as well.

Can't see why the glock light wouldn't be up to the test. I am sure it can take the recoil of the shots fired.

I took this Glock23 out one night and put about 100 rnds through it with the light attached.  I tested it with the light on and off and it  didn't  fail.  Sure their may be brighter hand held lights but for what it is the M3 makes the grade in my house.

i have both the glock light and the m3. the m3 is brighter but the glock light is plenty bright. both are built well. i am sure the surefire lights are better but they cost too much for me. i paid $60 shipped for my glock light and $75 shipped for the m3. both were NIB. i bought both on glocktalk. there are deals out there.

I will have to check glocktalk. I'd love to get ahold of either for that price.

I dig my Glock light. Cheap and well-made; what more can one ask?

look for better prices.  GLock light shouldn't be more than $80, M3 not more than $100, M3x which is by far the brightest not more than $150.  Even those are high estimates

The M series have better controls IMHO.

I have the glock light/laser and haven't had any problems. Seems plenty bright in the hallway at night.

the glock tactical light (120€) is plenty bright for me. also I didn't want to spend 210€ for a M3 or 560€ for a M6.

you should be able to find the Glock light and the M3 for a good bit cheaper than what your store is selling them for.  I see the M3 for $99 all over the place.  If you can find a private seller you should be able to get it a good bit cheaper.  Good luck

my only gripe is with the small controls.

I've got the glock light on my G22 in my nightstand.  I've never tried the M3 but the glock light does the job required.
