I have a 3rd gen glock 22 and would like to have the option of cheaper ammo and an easier gun to shoot for my fiancee so i would like to convert it to 9mm. What do i need to convert? Would it be cheaper to buy a police trade-in 17?
Thanks for the help.

You will need a 9mm conversion barrel and magazines.  You can even get away with using the .40 mags.

Lone Wolf will hook you up with a 9mm conversion barrel specific to your G22 and buy a G17 mag.

I found kkm, storm lake and one other brand that sell the barrels. Do yall recommend any of the mentioned companies

I put 9 in a 40 Glock mag and it would stovepipe sometimes, best just to get some G17 mags.

I've use them and several others as well. KKM is a good barrel, I would not have a storm lake barrel. The warrantee is only 90 days and getting anything fixed is next to impossable. I have 2 Lone Wolf barrels and they both are as nice as the KKM and less money.

I asked the same question not too long ago.  I bought 2 barrels from Lone Wolf Distributors that drop right in.  Just change over to a Glock 17 magazine and you'll be good to go.

ETA: Lone Wolf barrels have a ghey little wolf logo on them, but the one's I bought recently shoot well.

Is it possible to convert a 23 to 9mm as well?

It's a shame Lone Wolf doesn't make the 23-9 barrell.  It would only cost half as much as the KKM.  You'll have to do quite a bit of shooting with that 9mm barrell to make it pay for itself.

I purchased a Stormlake mdl 23-9mm and a mdl 23-357sig. Accuracy is unreal and the price can't be beat.

Storm Lake Barrel Warranty. The Lone Wolf barrels cost about $10 less and have a Life Time warranty.

I bought a EFK barrel for my G22 in 9mm, not too bad of a shooter.  The conversion barrel did not like the reloads I had at the time but shot very well with a box of UMC 9mm.  I plan on getting a conversion barrel for a SIG P229 to ahoot 9mm's from but this one I think I will go with Barsto.  The ability to change out the calibers like this is great and really cuts down of the cost of shooting.  I have a factory .357sig barrel, EFK conversion 9mm barrel and the .40 S&W it came with, God I love that pistol.
