I recently purchased a NIB Glock 23 1st generation. The price was $250 only because it was from a family friend. Is this a desirable Glock to have? I have a few 3rd gen glocks but have never really dealt with any 1st gens.

He has a few more 1st gen glocks, lots of sigs, italian berettas, a colt python, few 1911s, pre 1990 colt ar15's, ALL unfired and NIB. I'm going to slowly purchase everything he has since he is pretty much letting me rob him.

There's no such thing as a 1st gen G23, only 1st gen G17s and a VERY few G19s.  You have a 2nd gen G23.

I guess your right about that. Well at least one of his glocks is a 1st gen, I just figured they all were since he has had them for so long.

No such thing. It's a good deal, regardless.

There are a bunch of 1st gen G17s and a few 1st gen G19s. The 1st gen G19s were made from cut down G17 frames and were only made for a couple months. I have one of the first 2nd gen G19s with a 5XX serial number.
