Is the 17L discontinued?  What do they go for these days?

They are limited production. Glock makes random runs of 17L's and 24's. They are usually priced at $625~.

Not discontinued, just not currently in production.  Glock has for years produced a batch of these guns from time to time, but no set productions schedule.

A brand new in box 17L will go as high as $600-650, but they can be found for $500-575 if you keep your eye out.

I sold one of mine for $550 a few months back and was considering selling my last, but have come to my senses.

thanks for the heads up.  I saw two 17L's, and a 24C for sale tonight for $629 a piece.  I didn't know if that was a good price or not.

The last run of 17L models they only made 3500 of them to send to the states.

This was well over a year ago.

That's a very good price, jump on it if you want one.
I paid $625 new several years ago.

Sunday I went back to the Gunshow because the 17L I saw yesterday was talking..
Picked the G17L with one 17rd factory magazine for $425.. What a friend & what a deal.
The original owner of the pistol told me he bought it new in 1990 & has shot maybe 500 rounds threw it & that it had also "Never Been Cleaned" Ever..
I looked it over & it has the extended magazine release button, fixed rear sight in - size, captured recoil spring, factory 3.5lb connector, It also has had the upgraded trigger bar & firing pin already installed..Must have seen an armourer once??
The slide release lever is the newer style but was a flat factory one, I added a factory extended lever to it Sunday..
The guns was filthy & took 10-20+ patches & 30-40+ Q-Tips & about an hour of time to clean it up really good & lubricate, BTW the gun was dry except for the old gold lube that was put on it 20 years ago by Glock..
Date Code of MV dates the gun to April of 1990..

1990 2nd Gen G17L

My only complaint about the G17L is that stupid looking hole in the slide.  I just can't stand it.  That's why I got a Lone Wolf G24 slide when I decided to convert my G22 and special ordered it (before he started stocking them) without the slide cutout.  To my eye it looks much better and the extra 1.9 oz makes it handle better for me.
