The date code is KI, produced in 1998.  Anybody willing to take a guess as to how many round through her.  I think the guy that sold it to me was lying when he said a "few hundred rounds".  I paid $785 cash for this.

I bought her used and I have never had an HK before so I am not familiar with the wear patterns on these guns.  The gun came with all 5 O-rings.  The one in the pic is a new one, the old one showed some minimal wear.

Looks about like mine, which has about 500 down the pipe.

Either way, its well under 2000 rounds, and thats just the tip of the iceberg for that pistol.

Even with minimal maintenance, the HK is a difficult pistol to wear out.  As long as it's still making good groups, I'd not worry a bit about it.

I have an HK USP .40 S&W Fullsize and mine looks nearly the same. Mine has just a little less wear on the edges of the slide and the extractor has a little more finish left on it. My USP has had perhaps 3,000 rounds through it since I got it new in Christmas of 2003. The USP is a great gun!

ETA: Thats an excellent deal BTW, parents paid $716 for mine new in 12/03.

Pics are bad...

But the two things I have noticed (From mine) which show wear are barrel and mag well. In the pics I can't tell if the mag well has streaks or not. If the magwell is worn.. mine started that at approx. 800 to 1000 rounds.

what about it makes you think it has more than a few hundred rounds......it looks like it has little wear to me......the worn places on the barrel will happen in a low number of rounds, as the slide wears the barrel down fast.....but it is just cosmetic.

Everything else looks good to me.  Remember a few hundred rounds means more than 300 to most people but under 1000.......either way 999 rounds is absolutley nothing to a USP.

Mainly all the nicks in the magazine well.  It looks like mags were inserted more then 30 times (300 rounds).  Thanks for the responses.  Peace.

Maybe someone was practicing their tactical reloads.  A good idea if you want to be able to do it under high stress.
