I just bought 3 boxes of this ammo from local tactical arms dealer. Headstamp reads: WCC 62. It looks to be in real good condition. Is it from 1962?

Thanks, chaos! I'm new with this 45, and thought this would be some good ammo to take to CHL course. Is it pretty hot or not?

I dont know how hot it is.............probably not too hot, I could be wrong.

When taking a CHL class, I would take some ammo that I knew would perform well in my weapon.

I'd try some before the class to see how it shot.  It only takes 50 rounds to qualify on your CHL test, IIRC.(in Texas)

where did you get that ammo?

I had a pile of it headstamped 78,  was some good reloading stuff, would like to find more.....

was it in DFW?

I just recently bought my first 45, a Springfield GI. Haven't shot it yet, so I'll try it out with this and see how it does. I got it here in Lubbock, at Texas Tactical Arms. He has 2 boxes left.

Don't rely on 40+ uear old ammo for ANYTHING other than plinking. It's probably still good but for the cost of Winchester white box or even Wolf you will have brand new ammo that will go bang every time.

Well, Sgt Gold, the dealer I bought my gun from threw in a box of Fiocchi 230 gr ammo. I wonder if that will do then for the course. I also have a box of Ranger RA45T, but I'll save it for later use.

Fiocchi is good stuff. The Ranger is for 'special' guests ;^)

Isnt military .45 ball corrosive, or was that just the older WWII stuff?  Ive only got one round of military, stamped 43' that I know is corrosive and will never be fired.

It very likely is corrosive! Just give it a good cleaning & your good to go!

Good stuff, no different then surplus rifle ammo. I still shoot Match Military ammo from 69 and it shoots just as darn good as ANYTHING you can buy today no matter the price. This is white box with eagle on it. GI ammo. Not corrosive.
