Sorry, to much Long Island Ice Tea.  Yes, the cut-out is to lighten the slide so the gun will function. Slide weight with the cut-out is almost the same as a stock G17 |

Thanks, I always wondered but couldn't find the answer anywhere. How come the G17 longslide or G24 don't need the top of the slide cut out to function?

I don't have a G34 or the G35. I've had my first G24 since '94 and like a dumb a$$ I sold my 2nd gen G17L. But I do have both 3rd gen G17L & G24C

HotRod, that is the oldest G17 I think I have ever seen. Very nice. Rather than start my own thread, I'll just ask in this one: I've got a new 34 as of last night. Right now I've got Hi-Vis day/night sights installed, and I plan to add the grip plug, color in the lettering white, and probably buy another dedicated Surefire X200B for it, with the Glock triggerguard-mounted tailcap switch. I also like the extended mag release plate shown here:  So, my question is, are there any other recommended accessories for the 34? I'll be using a Fobus holster for the time being, and will select a better holster for me at a later time. |
