Hey guys, a coworker said her husband has a Kimber custom he wants to sell and since I'm a good friend he'll part with it for $600.

Not knowing much about guns she couldnt tell me what series it is or anything, she just has a crappy picture.

Can any experts tell me anything from this pic?

Looks like it might be a Series I.   Not a bad price whether it is or not, though.

Especially if it is a Custom, and not a Custom II.  If it is a Custom then it is a first generation Kimber, and they are generally held in very high regard.

If it is a Custom II it is still a fine gun for a good price, but not the steal that a Series One would be.

EDIT:  Damn, Ken beat me by 16 seconds.

A new custom II can be had for $699 without much effort. Take a close look if it's a custom it's a buy, custom II not so much.

I just got off the phone with him and its not a custom 2, which I really like.

Going to trade him a Mossberg I have laying around plus a couple hundred bucks.

Looks like a Clackamas Classic Custom to me.  Definitely worth $600 bucks, if it's in good shape.

I'm honestly not too worried about the finish, I may want to have it re-done anyway.

I've regretted selling my Eclipse 2 since the second it left my hand, and am looking forward to having a quality 1911 again.

Then it sounds like it would be hard to go wrong getting this one.

If it's a series I, yes.  If it's a Clackamas, YES.
