I got a chance to shoot a SA operator and absolutely fell in love with it. It shot like a dream for me and just felt rite but I have wondered if I ever got one what I would do with the rail. Do the lights and laser effect the overall balance of the pistol?

Yeah, they might them a bit more barrel heavy. Which I love, because I like a bit more weight in the front of my pistols.

Doesn't that make it an AOW? Sorry for the noob question.

I have a laser/light combo on mine.

Yes.

Cool factor, looks nice and more updated

Seriously, they need to come up with a mini train that runs up and down on the rails. It will be a h00t!

Well.......in the real world....hell no it doesn't....it's still a pistol!

But the dumb assed ATF in their infinite wisdom decided to make a new law (pretty sure they can't do that), and wrote a letter saying that it is an AOW. However this law has never been tested--read no prosecutions.

That is why I put the

I like weapon mounted lights. 1911 #3 will have one.

Actually, there is at least one instance of an "unregistered AOW" charge for having a pistol with VFG being thrown out of court. So, no successful prosecutions, and case history is on your side.

As an aside...who makes a VFG that fits a Glock? KAC and Tango Down VFG's don't fit.

I recall reading a HUGE debate on this forum. Basically the outcome was that you can have VFG on a pistol. Doesn't mean you can't be charged for it though.

it's just a nice option to have. I personally have a light on mine. If you don't want a light, you don't have to get one, but if you change your mind down the road the rail would be nice rather than having to buy a new gun
