Had my gunsmith do some desired weight reduction.

Completed reassembly with a temporary coating of molyresin matte black.

Slide weighs 15oz and is a little nose heavy, which I wanted, a bit of a test for now.
After I put some rounds thru the gun, I may decide to take some more weight off the nose.

Once final performance is achieved, the slide and barrel will eigther be Ionbonded or Nitried.

Since the LWD slide is solid top, ie: heavy, I wanted to bring the weight down to what a factory G35 weighs. But I also wanted to add some weight to the nose of the gun for recoil reduction.

I went with the G24 slide for a longer sight radius and to gain a small bit of velocity as I intend to use 170gr bullets.

eta: I have spoken to a few GM, M in USPSA Limited division, as well as gunsmiths who build Limited guns, they all like the slides to be around the 11-12oz range. Granted, that is for STI/SVI type guns, but the principle is still sound for any gun that will be shooting the loads that make major PF in our sport.

And lets face it, I wanted something a little different and I prefer to stay with the Glock platform as that is what I carry daily. I could have easily had an STI/SVI 2011 gun built by anyone of the big name gunsmiths, hell, I have one of the best here locally. Hell he is the one that did the machine work on the slide.

Maybe the slide lightening works best for competition, maybe not, but I have to say it looks really nice that way.  It really gives it a custom look.  While I'm a fan of the heavier slides for my shooting style and my custom G24 works best for me with my 180grn handloads, I like the overall look of yours.
