Local shop has blue banded 226's for $600.  Sound about right?

If you mean a Sig CPO, then 600.00 is too high.  Grade 1 CPO's can be had for 525.00 or better, lesser grades even cheaper.

Yeah a little high,

look on www.sigforum.com  they sell the CPO's on there regularly.

My 229R .357 was $510
