I found some mags for the S&W 59 series made by Eagle Industries, are these mags any good?
Are they pre-AWB mags that are no longer manufactured, like the Ramline pistol magazines?

Thanks for the help

i'll let you know next week

got a couple of em coming from CDNN

eagle mags are mostly a mix-mix bunch (works for my 10/22, less than reliable for ARs), but CDNN had em for $7, so what the hell

I'd skip the Eagles and go with Mec-Gars. I know they work because that's what I use in my 5906.

BTW, I'm not sure what model you have, but I've found the 5906 to be a reliable pistol, more so than the earlier S&W designs such as the 459 or 659.

Don't buy them. Eagle mags are junk.

I have some eagle mags for my 92fs and they work just fine with FMJ. They do not do as well with HPs. I also converted one for my XD and it fed every thing but stuck out the bottom. The eagles are not as thick as the metal on my factory mags though. I do not think they are junk but if I had the money I would go factory or MecGar unless you just want some range mags.

Before learning my lesson and just paying the money for factory mags (this was during the ban), i had some for my beretta. they would hang up on the magazine catch. Just buy factory mags

jsut got my SW 59 mags from CDNN (GREAT company to deal with btw)

anyways: i got 2 of thier EAGLE mags ($7) and one of the MEC-GAR ($16)

DO NOT get the eagle--they are very cheaply constructed; the feed lips are kinda tight; the plastic floor plate is flimsy; the body/metal is cheap, its stiff, but not very well made and it seems to be pressed and sealed on the back; it says 17rnd capacity, but i could only get 16 in and it was a PITA to load as the lips were tight; furthermore, it goes in very tight in my magwell and will not drop free......

i did some manual cycling in my SW 469--they all ejected and fed, but some of the rounds seemed kinda 'tight' to chamber--i expect problems at the range.....

spend the extra and get the Mec-Gars or factory mags; the mecgar is well constucted--good metal/construction and heavy plastic floorplate--held all 15rnds to full cap

will recommed to use the eagles ONLY for range mags ( but i cant do tactical/speed reloads b/c it wont drop free), or better yet, dont use/get em and get the Italian mec-gars or other

they feed reliably--100% for me so far (~50rnds apeace)

still a PITA to load w/ bullets and into the mag
