I picked up a colt 1911 with a comp on it. Popping the slide off, that I can figure out. But disassembly of the barrel and recoil spring guide... Im sure I can figure it out, but I'd rather not be whacking this thing around while doing so.

You are correct, sir! Capturing the assembly with a short piece of paper clip allowed it to be drawn out with the sleeve, and then the barrel removed out the front. All good, Thanks a bunch!

I have an older Centaur comp system, of which you pull back the slide, line up the holes, drop a paper clip in the hole, then release the slide, the clip keeping the spring assembly captive.

I thought I was the only one who bought a Centaur system.  Are they even still around?
