I'm selling my Sig 1911s.

I'm looking for a gun I can use for USPSA and IDPA production/SSP. I'm already familiar with Glocks but I'm not in love with them. I currently use my G17s for everything. Carry, competition, HD, etc. I've also got plenty of G17 mags.

I can buy a Glock 34 for $600.
10-8 sights for $100.
Vogel trigger for $200.

I think that set up would be decently competitive.

OR

I can buy a CZ 75 Shadow Custom for $300 more.

The trigger will be nicer, but everything else will be different. I already know how to shoot a DA/SA and the Shadow Custom is supposed to be mad easy. The supporting hardware like mags and holsters will be different.

This gun would do SSP/Production as well as ESP/Limited Minor.

OR

I can spend $2200 and get a used Wilson CQB to replace my 1911s. I'd use this for CDP/Single Stack.

I'd most likely still carry a Glock.

You say that the CZ is only $300 more, but what about all of the extra equipment needed (mags, holster, mag pouches, etc).  It sounds like you are already set with the Glock.  Plus the Glock is your carry gun.  I'd go with the 34 for these reasons.

I've been shooting USPSA for 30 years... first 25 with a 1911...switched to a G34... If you go with the G34, make sure the front sight is at least .280" tall if you have a fixed rear... you can always cut it down....I use Heinie Slant Pros...you really don't need the trigger but YMMV....if you don't already use 147 grain bullets, give them a try for accuracy if your club shoots anything out past 25y....

Having been there and done that, I'd vote for sticking with the G17s.   The G34 doesn't really buy you a whole lot.

The CZ is the better shooter, the Glock more practical and economical.

I shoot my G34 better than my G17 but I shot my Wilson better than my G34.
