Just wanted to know if the surefire DG-17 will work on a railed 1911....on the 10-8 consulting board there was a discussion about the Devon Groups and it was stated that the surefire DG-18 will fit the 1911....its not even available on the surefire site.......on the other hand the DG-17 is available and its states that its for the Colt 1911 Gov't model
Does anyone know if this switch will fit the X200 for a railed 1911?

It's DevGru

I was told the DG-17 only works with Surefire's add on rail.

I noticed the same thing and called Surefire to order one. I was disappointed to find out that it will not work with a Dawson rail or Integral frame railed 1911. I was told the DG-18 would not be out until summer.

A 1911 specific tape switch for the X200 A/B.

Is that a Surefire switch or a aftermarket?

Sounds like what I might need for my X200...

Have you used the DevGru switch on another gun?  I thought it was the coolest thing going until I actually used one.  I prefer the SL switch, personally.  For me, it's hard to have a good firing grip without activating the light with the DevGru switch.

I have the same problem with the DG switch on my G19. Thats why it's a purely home defense light for me. I wish they made a SL switch for the 1911/X200 combo.
