There are 3 safeties on a Glock: 1) Trigger block, 2) Striker pin plunger block, 3) The striker is not fully cocked. The Glock performance trigger as well as the Timney both eliminate the striker safety by fully cocking the striker, so unless I'm missing something it does eliminate one of the 3 Glock safeties.

The partially cocked striker is not a safety.

I must be extra special because I can get them for $75 every day and $60 several times a year

Where's the $60 website so I can buy more?

GT Distributors standard price is $75.  They offer 20% off several times a year. They have 15% off several other times to include October 6th and 7th which would also be good online.

That would bring it down to $63.75.  I went with the $60 price because the last sale I bought something from them was during the 20% off sale. I think that was memorial Day weekend?

If this thread is still going, I'll try to remember to post updates when they are on sale if anyone is interested.

Primary Arms had them for 69.41 and that was the lowest I've seen them anywhere. I get my HST ammo from gtdist, but I've never really paid attention to anything on gtdist.com except for ammo and Glock mags.

I dug into it many years ago and there were a few cases where weapon mods were an issue.  There were 2 basic areas where it was problematic-

Punisher logos, things engraved and written on the gun, motivational stickers like "kill them all and let God sort them out"...  This goes into intent and mindset.

Mods that were unsafe and caused a ND or some sort of unintentional harm to another person.  This goes into negligence.

If the prosecutor is trying to claim that you unintentionally shot someone...then blaming the trigger is a valid line of attack.  If you modified the trigger and then ND'd into a person...weapon mods that make it easier to fire are something that matters in your case.  Negligence is often slightly easier to prove than intentional homicide, so it may be easier for a prosecutor to accuse you of negligently killing someone and then try to bring in the mods.

That said, I can't locate any actual cases where it worked and I can't see a logical/safe trigger like the GPT being the basis of a prosecution.  There is nothing wrong with adding a GPT, mag well, using good duty ammo, and so on.

If the people worried about being charged for a trigger want something to really worry about, they need to get professional training and do annual firearms, med, and tactics courses.  That is where the real liability lives.

Same here, 30 years in LE and involved in multiple OIS investigations, and customization or parts have never come into the equations.  I'm not advocating going out and building a full on custom and carrying it, but I think the "your going to get BBQed over it in court" is based in myth and there certainly isn't substantial case law supporting it.

As been said, your responsible for every round fired, in LE or civilian alike.  That's where the true liability lies.  Those rounds better go exactly where you want them, because the ones that go off into the unknown, can and probably will have a significant dollar amount attached to them as well as s possible stay at the gray bar hotel.

Oh, GT Distributors started their 15% off sale today, though Monday.  That will bring the cost down to $63.75 + shipping and tax and all that stuff.

I tried one and it wasn't any better than the standard trigger it just felt different. It also made disassembly difficult because the slide won't come off unles I'm holding the trigger to the rear.

So with all of you guys saying it made your trigger too light I really wonder if I got a defective unit.

TFB just had a video about this.

How an AR-15 Can Send You to Prison

TL;DR: They did a mock trial to see if defendents were "judged more harshly if they used a more fearsome seeming weapon."

What they found was the overall look of the weapon was a factor in sentencing. It didn't get into modifications but it does seem the overall appearance matters more than the modificaitons done. So you are 100% correct Punisher logos, things like "kill them all and let God sort them out" is far more likely to impact your sentencing and conviction than modifications to things like triggers, guide rods, slide release etc.

So all these cops telling people to not modifiy their guns are full of bull. Ultiamtely it comes down to was the shooting justified.

The backplate catches slightly on the striker sear when sliding the slide off. Pulling the trigger drops the sear.  You don't need to lower the sear, as you can push past it but it is easier to slide the slide off if you do.

I've put the Glock Perf. trigger in all my carry Glocks so far, including my gen3 and gen4 9mm's as well as my 32 and 33 Glock 357 sigs. It's a better trigger than what the stock triggers were, so it was an easy choice. The fact I can get them for "blue label pricing" which is 70 bux was also a bonus. As for prosecutors targeting me because of the GPT in my gun after a legitimate self defense shooting, bring it bitch. A legit shooting is always a legit shooting, and I live in FL, where Gov DeSantis fires democratic woke prosecutors who refuse to prosecute criminals. You guys who live in your blue state utopias controlled by liberals from top to bottom, you can worry about that crap.

Where can I find these triggers?? I'm thinking of a G47MOS with this
trigger and maybe more if I like it.

At this point, I need rationale to pickup a G47.
My initial thought was get it and customize it.
But, I see the trigger Glock produced is only 17/19.
I already have a bunch of those.

What's the point though of a G47 when you have G17/G19 already??
What is so great about a G47??

Are the mags interchangeable as is 17-19 etc??
I haven't paid any attention to handguns in awhile.
Please school me.

The GPT will work just fine in a G47 and the G17 magazines are what it uses.

Unless you want to make a G19L or don’t already have a G17 MOS there is not much point in the G47 if you already have a bunch of Glocks.

That said, I want a G47 just because.

I've never understood the whole "trigger mod will land you on death row" routine. I would say putting an explosive behind a piece of lead into your gun pretty much indicates what the intent of a gun holder is.

Thanks.

I have every model G17/G19 there is practically, in most gens too, many in multiples.
I realize Glock is trying to sell product. But, is the G47 just a G17
in that fashion as the G19X was???

Add; i have to be choosey now. I don't have space for more stuff.
Glock has adopted the car manufacturers montra, new today, obsolete tomorrow
for the newest greatest. I was buying 9mm before it ever was popular.
Let's agree I've ended up with more than a few since '90's. If I was
smart, I'd dump half of them for other stuff. But, old horses as they say.

I just ran my Performance Trigger G17 in a 2 day handgun course. The instructor was running the same (he’s an MSP Black Belt).

His take was it’s a great trigger…once you get used to it.
I found it slowing me down sometimes because I’m used to usual Glock trigger for the past 20 years. The reset length is what throws me off. You really can’t pin the trigger and let it reset like a normal Glock. It requires a quick let off and reset once fired.

Get used to that while shooting fast and it works beautifully. The break on slow long shots was better. I was ringing steel at 100M about 25% more often than with normal trigger.

YMMV.

This is correct. I realized I didn't need to hold the trigger to disassemble but I felt resistance and thought it was necessary. It is however easier to do while holding the trigger down.

That said I put the GPT back in my gun and ran it in a ASI/IDPA style practice session my local range does and I stand by my initial assessment that it isn't really an improvement over the stock trigger it's just different. Whether or not you'll like it depends I guess on what you like in a trigger.

It was easier to engage some targets at longer ranges with it but I noticed no real advantage closer in and personally I don't like how much further forward the trigger face is on the GPT compared to the stock trigger.

The 47 is not the 19X exactly, but close.  The 19X/45 is the 17 length grip with a 19 length dust cover and slide.  The 47 is the 17 length grip, with a 19 length dust cover but with a slide the length of a 17.  So you can take the 19 slide off the 19 and put it on the 47 and get a 19X/45.  You can take the 47 slide off the 47 and put it on the 19 frame and get a 19 longslide.   CBP wanted to be able to switch those configurations.  I have a friend who is a firearms instructor at harpers ferry and he said a lot of guys carry in the 19L configuration.

Glock has since discontinued the 17 MOS because of the 47.  Although the legacy 17 is still built

I like the 47.  I got rid of my 17s in favor of the flexibility the 47 gives.  With the 47 and 19 I can have, in essence, a Glock 17, 19, 45 and 19L.  2 guns. 4 configurations.

Using that flawed logic you better remove those night sights, rds, “muh high cap” magazines, grip mods, etc. There are no cases on the books of attorneys making a case of “upgrades” making a defensive weapon “more deadly”? This BS wives tale gets parroted often but I’ve never seen or heard of it actually happening.

Here is my take on the subject:

In 1995 when I took my first concealed class for permit, the instructor was retired NOPD (New Orleans PD) and told us very clearly, do not carry a modified firearm, if you need to use it you will be a prosecutors wet dream.  You will be transformed from an individual trying to protect yourself to a vigilante looking for trouble and someone to shoot.

Fast forward a few more years and second instructor told me the same thing, and then had another one say essentially the same speech.

My best friends brother is our local police chief and I asked him about this and said if you are carrying for self protection, carry a box stock firearm, dont give the prosecution any reason to pile on your case.

So with that being said, my carry is box stock, down to the sights.

Totally agree.
The DA will pepper your angus over aftermarket performance parts.
Stock pistol out of the box for EDC.
You can increase your overall skill level by learning to shoot factory triggers instead of Gucci triggers.
Become a better shot with practice and skill instead of a gucci trigger. Make yourself better shot and leave the pistol alone(factory). That way you can pick up any caliber Glock and shoot it like an action hero. jmho

After a shooting, the state police basically does some ballistic and function testing then sends it back to evidence. Don't overthink this or watch too much TV, people. Yes, I have first hand experience with these matters. This isn't some my uncle's brother's cousin told me BS.

With that said, I've been carrying a GPT on my hip since they came out and I haven't shot off my ass cheek, yet. You'll be just fine.
