Can you put a Glock 19 Slide, Barrel and Recoil Spring on a Glock 17 Frame?

I know I am reiterating the title but I want to know if I can still keep the long grip and reduce the frame without issue.

As well, is there a good source for 17L frames/barrels/recoil springs?

I greatly appreciate the assistance! Thank you!

Obrigado!

I'm going to say no because the frame of the 17 will be longer than the slide of a 19 if I understand the question right.

The G19 & G26 barrels have a differnt lockup than the G17.

19 upper won't work on 17 lower, and vice versa.

Also, why not just get a 17L handgun?

It's very easy to remove, you just have to know how.

If you get a larger slide suck on smaller frame/vice versa, you need to lock the slide back, remove the rear plate, take the firing pin/spring out and it should come right off.

Just use your 19 with 17 mags and a grip extender. I'll see if I can find a link.

I'm looking for the opposite... I wish they made a 17 upper on a 19 length grip. To this end, I've been on the look out for a beater 17 to chop.

Yep.

I love my 19L or 17SG whichever you want to call it. It is now my EDC and it also is very fun at the range. great control but it doesn't have the huge grip and hump of the 17

He wants a stubby slide and a long grip. By "reduce the frame" I believe he means cut the dust cover.

No, you can't.

No. Different locking lugs.

Or hold tension on the back of the slide with your thumb and pull the trigger.

I've played around with it and it can't be done.
I had:
19 slide
19 recoil spring
17 frame
17 barrel

This combo will assemble, cock and dry fire...BUT...you can't load a round. The front frame rails on the 17 frame are too far forward too allow the 19 slide to come back far enough. The frame rails bottom out on the front of the slide, stopping it. There's not enough to the rail to cut it shorter and there's not enough slide to extend the cuts forward.

I really wanted this to work.
