A buddy of mine took an NRA instructor certificate course, and during this course the course instructor told him that .40 G23 barrels can be swapped for 9mm barrels! My wife would really get a kick out of that, does anyone know if it is true? I am aware of the .357sig conversion.

Yes and no. The G19 barrel will fit into the G23, however the outside diameter of the 9mm barrel is smaller then the 40 and could damage the gun. You can purchase a 9mm conversion barrel($90) that has the same outside diameter as the 40 and using the 9mm mags(G19/17/18) it will function just fine.

Since the question appears to have been answered, I hope the OP doesn't mind I add something to the question.

Say you have a G26 (9mm), could you swap out the barrel for a G27 .40 cal barrel?

Sorry for hijacking your thread, but I'm looking into this very thing for a buddy of mine.

Is the $90 conversion barrel a Glock factory product?

No, the slide on the G26 has a smaller diameter hole, the G27 barrel won't fit through. You would need the complete top end.

No, aftermarket only.

Where do you find these at?

Several places sell the conversion barrel. I picked up both of mine from Lone Wolf. If you are looking for a complete slide, it's anybody’s guess.
