I have been looking at the 450 SMC and 460 Rowland for a woods or outdoors pistol and would like to know what you guys think of these rounds? If I go with one not sure if I should convert the 1911 or XD-45 I have to shoot this caliber. Anyway mostly want to  know about these rounds are they worth the cost would I just be better of using the money for the 45LC I was looking at for my outdoor pistol? Tell me what you guys think yes it would be used for bears and might want to try some boar hunting also.

I considered this a number of years ago. Even bought a Clark .460 barrel.  But at the end of the day, the battering on the 1911 frame didn't make a lot of sense. It make much more sense to get a .44 magnum purpose-built for the caliber.

Thanks but can you shoot and handle the 460 better then the 44 mag? Really a 1911 or any pistol meaning is to be shot would 5K 460 do enough damage to a 1911 that you would notice? No flame to you as you just brought up a question! Also to add I would go 45LC over 44 mag!
