To put a long story short, my brother put 9mm in the mag at the range (the Tok ammo was in a tub 1" away, so the confusion was excusable). After I cleared a jam he had (the round was only 1/2way seated in the chamber, but it seated when I pulled the sldie again), I fired the round before noticing it was 9mm and not 7.62 and freaked. After breaking down the gun at home, I found this in the chamber:

Now, I'm going to take the gun to a smith to have it looked over, but what damage could have occured here?

edit: the shiny metal bits aroudn the jacket fragment are lead, not barrel-steel.

I don't know what kind of damage could of been done to the gun, but I can guess what kind of damage you could of had.

Your lucky, very lucky, very, very, very LUCKY.

Next time make sure you have the ammo seperated and put away, so as to no confusion.
I'm surprised he couldn't tell the difference.  They don't look anything alike.

From experience with the CZ-52, I would highly recommend scrapping that barrel and buying a new one. The 52's barrels are hardened to +/- 54Rc to handle the high pressure, it is a very likely event that you may have created stress cracks in the barrel.
