This is a funny one, but I'll join in anyway.

I would never think to CCW while golfing.  Of all activities I particpate in, it's just hard to imagine ever needing a weapon on a golf course.

Just curious if there is any documented history or case where someone needed to use deadly force on a golf course?

I've thought about it.  Not real comfortable leaving it in my bag because sometimes you have to walk a long way from your cart.  I have a feeling it wouldn't be too comfortable to swing the driver with my usp concealed.

Clearly you haven't ever watched "Falling Down."

Oh yeah... I forgot about that one.

id just be to tempted after a few of my missed swings to pull out my 9mm and bust a few caps at the tee and my ball sitting up on the tee.

I have no temper at all and a slight anger problem.

I'd be too tempted to shoot all the tame little squirrels while trying to "shoot" birdies.

Actually around here we just carry a shotgun in our bag like Uncle Jed and Jethro.

Having a grizzily chase you off the green would suck.  gotta admit that.

We had a bobcat attack a golfer in Tucson a couple months back. Thankfully his buddy beat it to death with his golf club. I don't golf but I do jog with mine and forget it's on me.

Um... NO! I imagine most courses prohibit that.

Never once saw a sign prohibiting and I've probably played 30 golf courses since CCW went into effect in MO.

I am surprised at how many are poo-pahing this question!

I carry everywhere I can. Where I work, company policy prevents a firearm on company property, so that is one place I cannot…

While unlikely that one would need it on a golf course, it is unlikely you would really need it even in the worst part of town!

I say it is most unlikely because how many of us have actually ever had to pull our weapon out?

So if you want to base your decision on past experience weighed against likely threat level, you will end up never carrying a firearm…

Are you willing to stake your life on probability? Or would you be more content putting your unused pistol back in the drawer after a golf outing?

A good note to use in your potential eulogy would be 'He could have carried his pistol that day, but chose not to…'. It will bring tears at the service!

Mine would be in my wasteband, like it always is.

I carry my G19 IWB on the golf course just like I do everywhere else.

Great post Parrot. You are 100% correct.

Shame on all of you who are mocking this question.  I work in a golf shop, and you would all be amazed at how many people have stories of irate golfers on the course.  I have personally almost gotten into at least 2 fights on the course, not to mention how many times I've been yelled at for no good reason.  A slow foursome who doesn't want to move, an accidental errant shot, etc., any number of things can set a golfer off, and he's got a bag full of 14 weapons with which to beat you.

I have personally never carried a weapon onto the course because my CCW paperwork is still being processed, but when it is completed I will certainly carry the gun in my bag at all times.

I carried on Sunday at the course with shorts and Smartcarry holster.  Perfect combo and the gun does not move with the swing.

Bah... No need to cary a pistol on the golf course when gun racks mount just fine on a golf cart.

About 10 years ago, the father of a police officer was in a foursome that was robbed at gunpoint while on the course.  No one was hurt but after that, I always kept mine in the bag at that course.  The golf course was not in the best of neighborhoods, and a couple of guys just walked out of the woods and demanded their wallets.  Now I just don't play that course...Let me rephrase that.  Now I just don't have time to play any course.

Well I brought this question up due to the fact I never have before. I just had a good friend come into town for 5 days and we played 18 holes per day. I carried a .38 ultra light with DeSantis front pocket carry and 2 x bianchi ammo strips and was quite comfortable everyday.

I will probably be picking up a 638 Airweight shortly for summer pocket carry for the advantage of less weight.

Thanks everyone for all of your input......the bear chasing the golfers is an email forward must!

Carried a XD9SC one time and a P3AT the other time I went golfing.

Oh yeah, I've only gone golfing twice, so I was carrying both times.

XD9 in Comp Tac CTAC holster and P3AT in my back pocket.

I won't even leave a wallet in my pocket or a watch on while golfing. I can't have intereference like that - it drives me nuts. So no, I don't carry.

Skip the cart, and carry your bag.  You'll never be more than 20 yards from it, and it's got plenty of room for the gun.

I work at a golf course as a greenskeeper, and would frequently carry.
Mostly a J Frame in an ankle holster.
Sometimes kept a .22 rifle on the mower for shooting at groundhogs/gophers.
