First, do they make 9mm birdshot loads, and secondly, will birdshot hurt the barrel?

I'm going hunting and am thinking about carrying my SR9 with a couple rounds of birdshot loaded, in case we come across a rattler.

Yes they make them.

No they won't hurt your barrel.

Quite possible they won't cycle the slide fully, so test fire first.

Found out recently that NO ONE makes snake shot for .380.  Which sucks.

I'm shocked they don't make it for .380.  I think my little LCP would make a perfect snake gun!  The SR9 will do, though.

Thanks for the info!

There is some info regarding the use of handgun birdshot loads on Old_Painless' site
