I hear about it quite often - Glock owners talking about how their G21s are accurate.

So far I've owned 2 G21s, sold the first one off (Stupidly), bought a second one. Both have been BY FAR the most accurate 45 handguns I've owned, quite possibly the most accurate handguns I've owned period.

Don't get me wrong, my other glocks are accurate too, but the G21 will put a nice fist sized group on a plate at 50yds, i can't do that with my G35 with a longer sight radius, or my G17 with an identical sight radius.

I'm curious if this is just something with me, or if there's something else magical going on.

No Sir, my G21SF is VERY accurate; I have friends who have .40 and 9mm Glocks comment on how accurate my G21 is.

Glock hit the ball outta the park with their .45's.

I would say its the cartridge, more than the gun.

I shoot my G30 as well as I shoot my G21...and I shoot them both way better than my G19
Link Posted: 8/31/2013 7:06:21 PM EST
Mine is accurate, but my hand fitted 1911 is more accurate and has been ultra reliable with over 10k rds through it.

I've actually went through 2 other polymer high capacity pistols because they would not run suppressed 100% like my 1911.

My glock 21 is pretty darn accurate but I haven't shot it suppressed yet.

Out of the 5 Glocks I own my G21 Gen 4 is the easiest to be accurate with.

Punches out great targets without even trying.
Link Posted: 8/31/2013 8:15:11 PM EST
G21 I used to have was very accurate. Much to the chagrin of a very pompous Les Baer owner who could not shoot 1/2 as good as his two pistols.
Link Posted: 8/31/2013 8:31:48 PM EST
I'm doing it wrong I guess... I can't shoot as accurately with my G21 as my 1911 or G19 and G26. Must be my ladylike hand grip!

Most firearms are more accurate than the person behind the sights!

I guess you have to define some sort of accuracy yardstick - I guess this is one of my pet peeves- IMO only by quoting routine on paper easily replicated groups done at a minimum of 25 yards ( throw some fifty yards groups in as well) can you have some idea of accuracy- steel targets lie sometimes - hitting an edge that still rings steel that you simply ignore and anything inside 25 yards can not show up ( shooters the same way groups a shooter shoots at5-10 yards can still look decent while hiding fundamental errors in technique that are blatant at 25 yards and beyond)
Ok enough of my rant _ it has been said by many that the 45 cal glocks are the most accurate.

100% agreed by me!!!

I have had a 30 and a 21 for over 5 years. I did from them being brand new and still do much better with the 30. I can't explain it.

I was informed by a knowledgeable Glock owner who shall remain nameless, that the octagonal barrel rifling is a reason for their 45 accuracy.
My 21sf, and 30sf, have a tendency to make one ragged hole @ 7 meters.
My G19 ain't bad tho...take any of em for a job.

PS: please correct me if I'm wrong on the barrel info. I am no expert.

Cav any gun can make ragged one hole seven yard groups proves nada. Need to stretch the range before you really know anything
Link Posted: 9/1/2013 10:27:30 AM EST
I think the G30 is known to be more accurate. Mine is.
Link Posted: 9/1/2013 12:53:58 PM EST
I always wondered, if they are more mechanically accurate....

....or just really easy to shoot well?

Very true, sir. Next time out I plan on a trial @ 50m.

But as you know longer than 7 m engagements is not probable. When qualifying with the 1911 at Ft Knox, the range did stretch to 50 meters, and I was easily capable at that distance.

Looking forward to seeing what holdover if any is necessary. Should be fun!

Do g21's normally have a looser slide to frame fit than say a g19?

I am more accurat with the g21 so far but you can shake the gun and hear the slide rattle around a little. On the g19 it feels tighter and does not rattle. It doesn't seem to affect function it just sticks out when I handle them side by side.

my G21sf is th emost accurate pistol I own. I just picked theis GEN4 up this morning

Link Posted: 9/2/2013 5:46:50 AM EST
I agree my G21 I own several are easy to shoot and the 30 as well. Very accurate. But if I do my part hitting soda cans at 50 yards is easy.
Link Posted: 9/2/2013 5:48:13 AM EST
My G21 Gen4 is silly accurate, but with that said, my gen4 G30 is quite possibly the most accurate Glock I've owned, out of dozens.

Heavier projectile = less subjectable to being aerodynamic-altering forces. Also the lower pressure should been less flexing whether in the frame or the barrel.

In addition to this, the 45 Glocks are a little bit more accurate as they use a different type of barrel rifling that takes advantage of the .45. I suspect this is the main reason why the .45 Glocks are more money than the 9mm/40/.357

I want a 21 so bad, and as usual, the Glock forum isn't helping in that department.

HTR.

ETA, can I get a G21+streamlight TLR1 light combo pic please? Anyone?

Not TLR-1s, but close enough?

I'm not sure if there's an actual or perceived difference in recoil. That being said, I prefer the Gen 4 due to the grip texture and larger magazine release.
Link Posted: 9/8/2013 9:49:25 AM EST
who considers a gen3 snappy? both are identical in the recoil department... gen4 may be a touch calmer but neither are snappy by any means

well a gen3 paired with a Vickers mag release is pretty nice too.... but I do like the 4th GEn mag release. the 4th gen (for me) is slowly edging out my 3rd GEN SF
Link Posted: 9/8/2013 2:48:30 PM EST
I think it's the people that buy G20/21's that are inherently accurate.

Thanks. All the others are boring black.

Just got the 21 today. Ran some rounds through it when I got home. Awesome gun.

I've had the same experience with the Glock 45 cals. I've recommended so many G21, G30 and G36 I should be getting a commission. Of the 3, I am the most accurate and precise with the G30, and I have no explanation as to why; I just am.
Link Posted: 9/8/2013 5:40:46 PM EST
damn I lucked into a like new gen2 21 for $300 and was going to use it for trade fodder until I decided to shoot it
its as accurate as I am capable of right now
Link Posted: 9/9/2013 2:54:05 AM EST
Another here who thinks that the G30 is freakishly accurate for a sub.
Link Posted: 9/9/2013 6:22:35 PM EST
My Gen 3 G30 is very accurate but the king is my Gen 4 G21 with Factory Glock 5.3" threaded barrel. Dead nuts accurate and improved velocity.

My 21sf shoots like a dream.
