Looking at getting into a G30 but really have no use for a light rail and would prefer not to have one at all. With that in mind I'm looking at getting a used Gen 2 but want to see if anyone knows if there were any issues with these that I should either know about, or be on the lookout for.

Thanks in advance.

i have no personal experience with one, but i have not heard of any issues concerning the Glock 30. in fact, i hear nothing but good reviews. i know you would rather not have the accessory rail (hence, the reason you're looking to get a Gen2), but if you want a new model you will have to settle for a Gen3. listen, just because the rail is there doesn't mean you automatically have to put a light on the pistol... if the need should arise, you could though. it's always good to have options so keep that in mind.

No. Mine is perfect. I did not want the rail specifically.

The issues circulate around the G30sf trigger bar. Google: "G30sf FTRB"

Bought one when they first came out and have carried it ever since. Never had a single hiccup out of it.

Good deal, thanks for all of the responses. I could not find much as far as issues online or anywhere else. As far as the rail goes and using it or not, I know I will not, especially on this pistol as it will be a CC for me. I carry a Streamlight as part of my EDC. Having the rail and not using it...that's fine for some, but I know for a fact I will never, and to me it just seems like something that is a potential extra snag point that can be avoided.

The only problem seems to be that G30 mags are hard to load and take some time to get the springs adjusted.

I  think the G30 you are referring to is actually a gen 2.5. and the only problems I know of are the possibility of frame rail breakage in the E series frames and issues with the magazines being difficult to fully load.

BTW my E series frame has never malfunctioned, so I am just going to run it till it breaks
