Anybody out there in 1911 land try or regularly use an ambidextrous mag release?

After years of training on HK USP40, I got used to operating the mag release with the trigger finger. I was wondering how it would work on a 1911. I am right handed.

Like one ofthese.

I got some decent trigger time years ago on my brother in laws competition 1911 that had the Smith & Alexander unit.  It was well made and did what it was intended to.

However, I wouldnt want it for carry.  The USP pivots downward, while the 1911 release pushes inward.  Id be concerned about popping the mag out while carrying.
