I am about to pick up a S&W J frame. I want something small to tuck into my pocket. I am stuck in the unfortunate position of liking having a hammer and the single action and realizing that the hammer can catch on my pocket.

I ve searched and other that bianchi grips that arent sold anymore the only compromise I ve seen is this https://www.leocombat.com/product/pocket-safe-hammer-shrouds/

seems like a pipe dream. anyone have any experience or thougths?

This right here.  The good people at S&W recognized your need and built the thing decades ago.

I caught this on a S&W forum, the posted said that the shroud that these guy make is similar to the Colt one and is made for J frames.  The lack of an image doesn't help, however they list a contact email, so if might be worth asking.

I wanted a J frame for years and liked the shrouded hammer look.  Got a S&W Model 638 and all is well.  Also thinking of getting a S&W Model 649 also.  No need to get a aftermarket shroud.
