I don't like the other V-Z grips, but I do like those...

Those grips give the 1* a very classic look.

NICE!

Jason, how do these compare to the gunner grips?  Equally rough or smoother?  Thanks,  JD

Very nice - the marriage of two excellent product lines.  Best of luck to both parties.

I have one of Yo-Bo's Retro Sights and I can tell you that I'm happy as hell with it...so happy that I will get a set of these grips as well...

Unless you want to donate a set to me for testing..

Smoother... much smoother. While Gunners offer quite a bit of "traction" that's one of the factors that lead us to approach John about making these stocks. Gunners, while a good product, offer more traction from a stock panel than most people need and in my opinion they're too rough for most peoples application especially given the fact that the 1911 is gripped mostly fore and aft and the vast majority of users apply the gun in a concealed carry role. On a gun worn more or less away from the body, such as in a drop leg thigh type rig where the user may also being wearing gloves, Gunners do the job and do it well. But for a carry gun, like the kind that can't be seen, Gunners are far too aggressive for my tastes. With a gun worn concealed, especially "deep" concealment, the pistol will often be right up against ones body and then often against bare skin... not the most comfortable thing with Gunners especially if one is using the gun in an IWB holster.

The goal of these stocks was to fill a void in the market place and provide the highest quality and most durable micarta stocks while still retaining the traditional double diamond pattern. The stocks excel in an every day carry role and in my opinion offer the perfect balance of comfort and traction. John at VZ got it right for us and we're happy to be able to work with a gentleman like him.

Thanks Jason.  I'll give them a try.  Look great!  JD

Hey Jason, who makes that MSH?

Hey Jason, who makes that MSH?

I'm not Jason, but that is a Yost-Bonitz MSH.  I have one on my Yo-Bo Colt 1991A1 and another on my Yo-Bo customized SA GI.  It's called the Yost-Bonitz lanyard loop conversion for a MSH.  See here: www.yost-bonitz.com/pricelist/pistol

I never would have gotten the regular VZ grips myself, but Yo-Bo put them on my customized 1991A1 when I asked for some good micarta grips, and I have to say I really like them now, and prefer them over any double-diamond config. although it's great to see some more good micarta choices.  Here's a pic of my Yo-Bo custom with VZ canvas micarta grips:

Will there be a pin covered option for those who want to put them on S&A magwell equipped guns?  BTW, those are just plain perfect.

Very nice.

I've got the standard VZ grips on mine and they are great.  May have to look at a set of these for my next one.

Tangential question...

Are the hex-head screws a standard 1* thing, or does YoBo typically juse reuse the stock flathead screws that come with the pistol?

If you like my originals, you'll love these. Especially the traditionalist that are out there.

I kind of like them on my 10
