Are there any 9x19 1911 pistols on the market?

Thanks

Springfiled has one and I believe STI made a compact carry version at one time.

Not really an exact copy of a 1911 but the Star BM 9mm guns are based on the 1911 and are sweet shooters.

Llama makes a 9mm in a 1911 style

kimber has the Tactical Pro II 9mm just came out this year.

Sam Jackson used a Star Model B 9mm in Pulp Fiction

Now why the hell would you do something like that? The only thing a 1911 has going for it is caliber.

My Springfield Armory PI9134L Loaded Model 9mm 1911

Makes a nice change of pace from 45 ACP, and its dead on accurate with cheap ammo. Plan on shooting the local IDPA matches with it.

You might look around for a Polish Random.

I own a Springfield 1911 in 9mm. Kimber makes one, or used to, IIRC?

Avoid the Llama's!

We have a Kimber Tac in 9mm as well as a Springfield 1911A1 govt in 9mm at work. There are some out there

Cool for the training/tactics side of IDPA but since you'll have to shoot in ESP (enhanced service pistol) because it's single action. You'll be at a disadvantage if your mags are less than 10 rounders. I can't remember what 9mm 1911s hold so I may be completely off the mark. I shoot a CZ-85 Combat in ESP.

Does Kimber even make a full size 9mm 1911? I don't recall if they do or not. Their website is horribly out of date.

The only Kimber 9mm we have had in the store was a Tac Pro II in a commander size. The full govt. 5" pistol is in 38 super and 10mm, but I havent seen it in 9mm. O, we do have a .40 SW commander sized pistol too, dont remember which model.

STI makes full sized 1911's in 9mm. The trojan series is the "economy" version and they are very nice. The few that I've handled were beautifully done. If I were to buy a 9mm 1911 that's probably the way I'd go. SVI will build you a custom gun too, but it'll double to triple your price.

Kimber makes a stainless target 1911 in 9mm as well at the tac pro II in 9mm. A guy on another board just sold a used Kimber stainless target with six mags and a tritium front sight for $750 shipped.

I have seen the springer 9mm 1911s for about $700 new.

I can recommend the Trojan 9mm. Very accurate and very nice to shoot due to low recoil and good trigger.

Ya know, Springfield Armory should make their new .45GAP 1911 into a 9mm version...

Or maybe a double wide version of said gun...

I traded my 9mm Colt for an M1.
It's a stupid pistol...heavy and low cap. If you're going to carry a 1911 it has to be .45.
Link Posted: 5/18/2005 8:12:24 PM EST
Low cap doesn't bother me.

I just think a 9mm 1911 would be a nice range toy.

Para has five different versions of a 9mm. Holds 18+1.

Oh, sorry, my bad.
It was a nice accurate pistol but I have a Garand now. It's a bit heavier and bulkier than the pistol it is kinda fun to shoot.

i have a series 70 colt 9mm single stack commander length. stunningly beautiful gun.

paid a prince's ransom for it and plan on keeping it too.

that is, unless you've got WAY too much money...

When SHTF I'd definitely take a Garand.

Para-Ordnance P18•9

I own 2 of them, 70 series Combat Commanders.

Great shooting pistols!

Eh, for me, a double stack mag kind of defeats the slim feel of a 1911.

I used to have Series 80 Colt in 9X19 but I didn´t like it so I changed the "upper" to it.

Now it is Series 70 Combat Commander and it is my favorite 1911.
