Just inspect the locking block and slide when you clean or service the pistol. The problem was very rare and mostly attributed to the ammunition used by the division issued the M9 at the time. You can also swap in a new block with the radius cut if it would make you feel better. Be sure to also replace the pin and plunger at the same time as the old ones will not work with the new style block.

Don't worry.

Unless you are shooting thousands of rounds of +P+ 9mm, you don't have anything to worry about.

call beretta and ask.

You can also send it to Beretta for an upgrade. They will machine the cutout in the slide and replace the hammer pin with the newer oversized unit. Last I heard it was $65 plus shipping etc...
