I think I might pick up a Ruger GP100 this weekend. Gun will just mainly be for plinking, as I have autos for defensive use. I'm leaning toward the 6" figuring longer sight radius and greater velocity, but is there a reason I should be getting the 4". Remember, no carry here. Thanks.

If your not intending to carry, I would go ahead with the 6" just my humble opinion.

The biggest advantage will be the longer sight radius. If the gun will be just for target and plinking then go for the 6" barrel. In fact, you might want to see if they have an even longer one.

I would go with the six inch if your not carrying. It will probably be a slight more accurate for target.

AR- That thing is sweet. Outa my price range though.

Well, took your advice and picked up the 6" KGP161. Would have preferred blue, but I never see those around here. My local dealer was having a "Ruger Day" sale with reps, so I picked it up for $398, which is pretty good for around these parts.

I felt kinda bad because someone was looking at it debating between that and the 4" so I bought it out from under him. He ended up placing an order for one. I'm suprised they only had one. I was there a half hour from opening and they were doing a brisk business.

Now for the 10 day wait. Gotta love CA.
