I have a chance to buy a g17 from a guy at work for $325. I've seen the gun it is in almost mint condition,the guy has had it sitting in his gun case for years. I like the price but am unsure since it is an older model.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Many prefer the 1st & 2nd generations because they don't have the finger groves. Go for it!

It has a hogue grip on it if i want the finger groves. I have never used the rail on my G23 and my G26 doesn't have them so thats no big deal. It also has an extended slide release and 4 mags. I think my mind is made up, I was trying to find anything negitive on this deal.
