Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 229 & 226 .40 mags

I have a 229 .40 with quite a few 12 round factory mags, all marked 40/357. I'm picking a 226 .357 in a few days. Will the 229 .40 mags lock up in the 226? I know the barrel is shorter in the 229 is the grip also? I guess I'll have to wait a few days to find out.

Unfortunately the 229 mags will not work on a 226.  The grip is shorter on the 229, wth the mags apparently being slightly wider.
