Alright I am new to Sigs and am looking for some advice. I am sold on the 226 9mm but I dont know which version. I like the 226R but really like the 226R Tactical ( I do have  a suppressor that would work) but I dont want to spend 1k on a handgun. Then there is the 226 Navy. That one would be really nice but is also in the 1k club. Any adivice? Could I just get a threaded barrel for the 226R and save myself some money? Also has there been any issues with the DAK trigger? Do they make a 226R without the DAK? Thanks in advance,
Steve

They do make the 226 9mm in a standard Double/Single action  with/without the rail.  The DAK trigger is really nice and they are very popular.  You could just get a aftermarket threaded barrel and possibly save some money.  Or you could try to find a CPO 226 (certified pre owned), that way it still has the same warranty that a brand new one has.  Good luck.

Or you could just get a Glock 17 with a threaded barrel if you don't want to drop all that cash on a SIG.

After going up there again today and trying both triggers I decided on the 226R in 9mm. Thanks guys.

Congrats!!  Now you will know why the 226 is considered one of the best 9mm pistols in the world.

The 226 Navys are not in the 1K range for price. they run about $700-750 if you look around. If you don't want to spend alot get a CPO 226 at Ordnance Outsellers for about $465 but i think a rail model might be harder to find. Go check out the for ssale section over at Sigforum.com. Lots of good deals there. If you want a threaded barrel then you can buy it after you get the pistol and use it when you want to use the suppressor and use the standard barrel other times.
