I have a glock 23 and a sig 229. I know with a glock you can put a 23 (4in 40sw) in a glock 27 (3.5in 40sw) slide and it works like an extended barrel.

I would like to know if someone knows if a 226 barrel will fit in a 229. I am not looking for hate mail here but I got an opertunity to purchase a mint 226 357sig barrel for $60 then I was thinking about having it threaded.

Comments and questions are welcome... hate mail is not.

Get, I could answer that question in a 10 days. I sent my 229 .40 barrel and slide to be ported. I have access to a 226 .357, so I'll be able see if they interchange.
The P99 Walthers in 9mm can switch between the full size and compact barrels.

I got my question answered today. No a 226 barrel does not fit in a 229, the area around the chamber is longer on the 226.

Just got my barrels back today.
That is correct the 226 barrel will not fit in the 229 slide, due to the longer chamber.
