So I have been shoping for sights, I kind of like the TFO from TruGlo.
My 1911 is an older Colt series 80, plain GI sights so the slide will be cut anyway I go.
The TFO's are available in a Kimber cut, should I have my Colt slide cut for Kimber sights?
Looking for advise or thoughts.

I would go the route of a Novak cut. The reason being, that they are more readily available in most brands of sights. If you decide down the road to change them, all you do is choose a sight with the Novak cut. Hope this helps.

I've read that Truglo TFOs should be available for 1911 Novak cuts in spring of 2008.

Go with a Yost Retro rear, no cutting involved there, and you'd be hard pressed to see a difference in the sight picture.
