Damn, looking at it more it definitely wouldn't work. It's to tight.

Thanks for bringing it up

@03RN

Thanks Man. You're partly to blame for me wanting the Ryan Grizzle. I know you use your stuff and therefore know your stuff.
From the looks of your holster I'd say you might be right that it would fit without any changes. It looks like you still have some room in that holster.
Just to be extra sure you better order that JSOC, try it in your holster and then let me know. I'll wait for your feedback before ordering.

ETA: I didn't see your above post.  After further review the rear sight is long and is not flush with the rear of the slide. It starts further forward than you would expect. Are you still going to get the JSOC?
I talked to Ryan and he said they would make the modification to the holster for an extra $10. It's the freakin 14 week wait that is killing me.

Just do it. It's half the wait of a milt sparks or kramer.

I'm not sure it will fit. I'll measure when the kids go to bed. It's really tight as is.

The sight looks tapered so maybe but I'll need to measure. Seriously thanks for bringing this up. I'm looking for a 1911 for my 5 yo. I don't mind getting the JSOC but if it doesn't fit my holsters it'll be setting me back.

I think my loaded will pretty much be my lifetime 1911 but I'd like my kids to have some decent 1911s. They both have Smith m64s and 2 full ammo cans of .38s.

If not the jsoc then probably Springfield garrisons

@03RN - Quick question for you. Does your Workin Man holster have a cant or not?

It does. I'd probably order it without. This one was already made.

It really depends on what you like. It's not a huge deal but sometimes my grip isn't 100%. The more I shoot with it the better it is.

Thanks, most of mine are canted but I'm really not sure if the Workin Man is a concealable holster anyway. For ranch and range use I'd probably prefer no cant. Not having a cant would also work better if I wanted to swing it around to 1 or 2 O'Clock.

Yeah, I appreciate the cant while carrying.

Also fwiw I'd order it for a railed gun in case you ever get one

Yea, I was going to do that but Here's what Mr. Grizzle said "A railed holster may work for a non-railed version but I really have no way of knowing for sure because it can depend on the model.  Also, for a standard 1911 the only railed model we have is a Springfield Operator.  We have used it to make holsters for other railed 1911s but it can depend on the model.  Some models have thicker rails than others so it won’t work for all of them.  The rail on the Operator is not very thick compared to some models.  We may be able to build up the rail to accommodate a thicker rail but again it would depend on the model and we would need to research it."

I was also thinking, if I bought a railed 1911 I would want to stick a light on it, and for that I would need a completely different holster.

That's definitely fair. I typically get Springfield guns anyways and wish my non railedholsters would accommodate my lw champion operator

I have the WWII Tisas and it's fantastic except for the hammer bite.

Might have to pick up one of these.

I ordered a City Slicker 2 with tuckable clips and leather loops for my Colt Rail Gun, and Ryan told me much the same, except that the Colt will fit the SA Operator rail profile of the holster, and damn it it doesn’t fit like a glove.

You can’t go wrong with one of Ryan’s holsters, no matter what handgun it’s for.

I just purchased a JSOC pistol and after a little rough start by the trigger over travel set screw being set to the point that the trigger was disengaged but after a detailed stripping took the trigger out and fixed it.
I liked what you did with you pistol and I would like to know everything you did to yours internally.

No problem:

Harrison medium trigger, fitted, permanent over travel file fit.

Trigger track stoned / cleaned up.

Extreme Engineering sear, disco and hammer all modified, hammer slot stoned.

EGW thumb safety contoured and fit, EGW magazine release tuned, EGW barrel bushing fit, EGW spring plug.

10-8 Performance guide rod and slide stop fitted.

Breach face and disco track polished.

Wilson Combat extractor with geometry corrected, tension set to 30 oz and fit with a Harrison FPS.

Harrison hard pin and small part kit.

Barrel fit / lock up checked.

Main spring housing internal honed.

Barrel feed ramp / frame feed ramp polished.

Barrel finish reamed and break over angle polished.

Basically went through the entire Hilton Yam 1911 duty tune video minus the exterior mods.

It has 1200 rounds through it now and runs like a sewing machine.

Hope that helps.

If they would do one of these with a rail that matched the later Caspian framed CAG 1911’s I’d sell a Colt to buy one.

I really want one of these, but after reviewing the comments here, it seems that it is going to need work, etc. Not really want something I can just break in and carry. Is there anything around a grand that can provide what this does without needing work? I don't know any pistol smiths, and if i did, I would probably just grab a colt or springer base model and have it tuned up.

Anyone know if it has a small hardball barrel ramp or a wider SWC/HP profile?
