I have heard this is a no-no.  Why?  I have tried it before (very little) and have had no adverse reactions.  Thoughts?

I have never tried it in my single six, all I have heard is it is bad idea that will cause case head ruptures in the 22LR. The 22LR and the 22Mag are not interchangeable like the .38 and the .357. Do you have the 22 mag cylinder? You can order one from Ruger or brownells for cheap.

Yeah, I have the cylinder and have tried it.  Works alright--no problems with 12 rounds.  Casings looked alright when ejected.

I'm in the same boat.  I have the .22 mag cylinder but not the .22LR.

I decided against trying it.
