I apologize for the Kubrickian title, but the horrors you are about to see makes the best Kubrick films look like My Little Pony

I bought a PSA Dagger frame not long after it was released. I never actually got around to shooting it for various reasons. I didn't really like the trigger or the finger groove. Since they were put on sale and sold blem versions so often, it really wasn't even worth trying to sell.  I've always wanted to try a Glock 26 long slide. But I didn't want to give up the ability to mount a light. That left me with two distinct options.

#1 Build a P940SC. That would have involved spending $100 for a frame and jig, $50 for an OEM LPK and buying a new holster.  That's even if I would have been able to build it without screwing it up.

#2 Cut down a larger frame.  I actually had three choices here, a frame from Combat Armory, a PSA Dagger frame and a G19.5.

Here's the problem, I really like the combat Armory frame because I can use it in my stock Glock 19 holsters without a light. The Glock 19 frame is just out of the question because it is worth too much if I were to want to sell it (which I might now).

That left the sacrificial lamb, the PSA Dagger that has sat, unloved and neglected.  There's one problem. Aside from trimming down the finger grooves on a G23.3 20 years ago, I've never actually used a Dremel tool for anything.  I picked up an 18 volt Ryobi version earlier this spring that came with an assortment of bits and cutting accessories and figured now is the time.

A careful person measures twice and cuts once. A smart person measures three times and cuts once.  Then there's me

Embrace the horror!

Note to self, using some sort of fixed articulating saw or even a sharp and steady miter saw would have probably worked much better.

Turns out I trimmed a little high on the left side, but my hands really not going to feel that part anyway, so it's cool.

The right side looks more betterer.... Sorta

I went ahead and trimmed the finger groove down most of the way.

About 20 years ago I bought a Glock 27 and I got the magazine sleeves to fit over the model 23 and model 22 magazines. I forgot all about them till I found them recently. Unfortunately, I did not remember them for this project until I was done

Luckily I was not planning on actually carrying with them attached.

The Pearce +3 fits fine. Attachment Attached File

And the whole mess fits in a Safariland 6378 made for a Glock 19 with light (wearing a TLR-7A, but I think the holster takes up to surefire size).  I basically bought it to attach to an old duty belt for an around the house "battle belt".  It just arrived Monday, so it still has the paddle attached.

I definitely have to do a little more sanding and probably count down that ducktail I got going on on the rear of the frame.

I assembled this Combat Armory slide but since I haven't been able to get a rear site installed yet, I haven't test fired it. I will take it to the range next week after my new PSA dagger slides arrives and I will try them all together. I'll have my Combat Armory frame assembled by then to compare.

I voted Texans.

I admire you owning your own work.
Sand it down and clean it up some and it will be functional.

I could tell you did planning and measuring and possibly even had sleep.  That's something to be proud of.

Sometimes, you just have to go for it.

Have been planning this monstrosity for a while.

Your thread inspired me to finally plug in the Dremel and get after it.

I humbly present, the G26XL

Looks way better than mine.

Now toss a G17L slide on top to make a G26XXXL

So why do you shorten a perfectly good grip then want to use extended magazines?

I don't

But I can if necessary

If size absolutely matters, a G26 magazine with a SLR +5 is slightly shorter than a G19 magazine.

Oh well, I guess I'll get a G43X MOS instead.

Chop a Glock 19 frame, put some epoxy on the front of the dust cover?

Looks great.  Next project you should try porting the barrel/slide.

I either don't have a 26mag with a factory baseplate left, or I just can't find it.

Figured out that my one that rattles has a 17/19 extended base on it so it will be rectified soon.

I didn't have access to a proper saw for the initial cut .  I also posted that photo because it reminded me of a Glock I saw years ago after his dog literally did turn it into a chew toy

I have a Dagger S frame enroute, if I like the feel of that backstrap, I may order another to cut to G19 size.

Doing so would get rid of (most or all) of the magazine cutouts on the side of the magwell opening and allow me to have the rear of the grip wrap around the back of the magazine baseplate for a much smoother look.

Providing I use much more finesse

Well that's a hell of a way to get out of a little work.  But on the other hand very effective.

Honestly not trying to add insult to injury here.  Nope cant bring myself to even say it.  Good luck sir.

I was very tempted to order one, especially since I could have picked it up at the same time I get my dagger lowers. My FFL charges $20 for the first item and $10 for each additional for a grand total of $45 (for CA19 lower).

Do it and report back

No, you weld a G19 grip onto a 26 frame.  The 19's rails sit too far forward to work with a 26 slide.  You have to remove nearly the entire rail to get a 26 slide to cycle.
