Update: I got to handle one at the gun shop today. Sticker price was $899. Nice looking & feeling gun. Wish I could afford one!

Yae the one that I played with he wanted $900. I think it's a lot to spend on an unproven model. Ya know like buying a car the first model year. I did that once an dhad lot's of trouble with the car.

Well, it IS a 1911, not so "unproven", eh? And S&W always stands behind their products so if I could afford one I'd get one!

Me too... but like many of the newer models they often will drop in price after they have been out for a while...

but then again... when the XD came out it was 300 and has since jumped in price to nearly 500 for a NIB one around here... so maybe waiting is not such a good idea after all...

But BobCole is right... S&W is GREAT about standing behind their products.

These prices will be in the $750 range by the end of the year. You gotta let the rabid S&W fans get thiers first. After the novelty wears off and more dealers have them in stock, the prices will drop.
