Never bought a laptop from them.

However, I have purchased over $1,600 worth of computer parts from them.  Fast, prompt shipping and no problems whatsoever.

I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I've bought things from them dozens of times and have never had anything but awesome service.  They have good prices and they generally ship things very quick.  I would definitely recommend them!

Newegg is kind of the gold standard in prices and customer service. I've bought untold thousands of dollars worth of goodies from them, and have nothing but great things to say about them. Excellent prices, kick ass selection, and some of the best customer service out there. You can't go wrong.

Buy from them. They are good.

ETA: I have over $2500 of computer equipment sitting on my desk right now that was purchased from Newegg. My computer is built entirely of parts I bought from them.

If you want the best deal, then you have to go to pricewatch.com

Sometimes the best deal will be at newegg, sometimes it will be somewhere else, but they will list the item from cheapest online retailer to most expensive.

It really is the only place you should ever go

www.newegg.com and www.zipzoomfly.com is the only two companies I'll buy components and stuff from online. Both are stellar, and both have consumed thousands of my own dollars and the money of people I've built computers for.

Buy with confidence.

An inside look at newegg:

www.anandtech.com/IT/showdoc.aspx?i=2694

and I think this was also posted earlier on this board, but I'm not sure. If you get to page 9:

The metal crates and employees that you see below are all for Army Post Office and Fleet Post Office (APO/FPO) shipments to the US Military. "Shipping to the US Military is requires extensive paperwork in comparison to our normal shipping operations," says Howard Tong, Vice President of Newegg.com. "Not many companies provide this service but we feel it's worth the extra effort to support our troops and our nation."

Nothing but good things to say about NewEgg as well.  I could have shopped around at 3 or 4 different places and saved maybe $40 on my last computer (parts only), but decent shipping costs and great customer service made it easier to get it all in one place.  From the day I ordered my computer was built and running in 4 1/2 days.

i've spent thousands and directed more thousands of dollars through their site.  absolutely fantastic customer service if there's a problem (which i have had only once).  love them, always will buy from them.

but iv'e never bought a full system, i build my own pcs.  i would expect it to be a good deal

I usually buy several components at once for either ground up builds or periodic overhauls of my pc. I usually end up at newegg. If I shop around I can usually find individual parts cheaper but rarely all at one place and often at fly by nite or questionable retailers. For a single item, you might be able to do better. Just make sure the seller is reputable.

By the time I pay extra shipping as a result, it's usually just as cheap or cheaper at newegg. This, coupled with newegg's established rep and my unfailingly positive dealings leads me to ultimately buy from newegg.

Newegg is one of the "big ones", yes they're good to order from. As if they are the best, well,,,, -I don't usually start shopping there first.

I find that MWave has fewer assortment but slightly lower prices, and if you are building a PC and order a mobo combo from mwave, for a few bucks they'll do a POST on it before shipping it--so you can know that at least the mobo/cpu/RAM works that much.

Newegg does carry Taiyo Yuden 100-count spindle packs of CD-R's though. Taiyo Yuden is one of the top two brands, and doesn't cost much ($24).

This is some kind of arfcom love fest. Nobody ever agrees on one company this much. Right about now would be a good time to start bashing newegg. I heard they won't sell HP servers to civilians.

The IT Department I work for has probably bought over $200,000 worth of stuff from newegg in hundreds of different orders.  We've never had a problem with their service, and if we ever do get dead stuff (it's happened maybe twice), they make it right with no fuss.

I've personally bought over $5000 worth of stuff from Newegg, and I have had top-notch service every time.

They are the absolute best online PC-parts seller out there.

After doing businees with them since they've opened I have really soured on them lately. Their default UPS shipping sucks ass and it is overpriced compared to other competitors.

There are plenty of good online retailers to be found through Reseller Raitings. I shop at Newegg and buy someplace cheaper with better shipping.

That, and my wardrobe has really taken a hit since they don't offer free t-shirts anymore.
