I wouldnt think that would be a good idea. Even if there were good pics, good feedback on the seller. Who knows how the fit will be?  I dont like the idea of wearing someone else's used clothing anyway.

I've been looking and there are a few sellers who mainly deal in clothing, and they have 100% feedback with several thousand transactions. Some sell new stuff.

I have several Brooks Brothers I got for less than $100 per.  Very happy with them and so is my wife.

I'll pay a premium for the knowledge that no one but me has ever farted through my clothes.

suit on the web?

No way.

I don't care how much you supposedly save, you risk losing everything you spend.

with retailers, this ain't a problem

don't cut corners on clothing that defines your image (assuming its work or special occasion clothing)

No one who has bought anything listed in this thread so far said they were used..you all are presuming that.  Have seen some good buys though.

And yes, I buy used clothes for me and my kids. they have no problem with it and neither do I.  All the consignment stores I hit check over stuff pretty carefully.   What a wasteful society we have become ....I have bought stuff at stores and on ebay that were brand new almost..maybe worn twice..and paid $7-10 for a $50 shirt.

My kids supplement their back to school clothes this way too. Kids grow so fast, they hardly wear anything out...now finding the right fit and size and fashion limit them to consignment stores. We are lucky we have one that deals in fashionable trendy consignments from name brands mostly like Tommy, A&F, etc.

As for a suit on ebay...yep, been looking for one (new one) and some jackets on there. Surprising how many people are competing for them.

If you have a good tailor locally I would say go for it.  I had an instructor in college that purchased large amounts of suits for a Stateside company in her previous job.  She would buy the leftovers from the preivious seasons from hugo, versaci (sp?), and various other makers.  Most of the labels had their suits made by another company, much like various ar parts.  Just buy a new one from one of the bigger sellers and have it tailored to you.

I got 2 abercrombie button up shirts for $7 the other day.

hmmm 7 versus 45, 7 versus 45.
