so translated into victoria's secret speak this would be size S? or M?

Small for the most part....
somethings could be xsmall, some medium...
(size wise, even numbers are womans...4/5 odd number jr....usually jrs are a little mmm leaner in the hip, butt area)

I've found in general that women get pissed if you don't land whatever you're trying perfectly. Buy the clothes too big or too small, and you're screwed and not in a good way.

Oh man, I order from Victoria's Secrets all the time...

She's either and XS or a S... If she has big boobs, order up. Lucky girl. I could tell you what size I am and what I order for comparison purposes only, but that's a little TMI.

edit: Actually, just reading through the other posts above, you will be FINE with the S... I order a M and I'm bigger than what she is. (an 8- now y'all know

)

I'm a size 4/6 in Misses. 5'3", 120 lbs, B-cup, I usually wear a Medium from Victoria's Secret. Sometimes a small. Really it just depends on the item. But most of it is Medium. They haven't indulged in the "size inflation" to save people's egos. A small is a small. A medium is a medium. They won't call a medium sized item a "small" to stroke someone's ego.

I'm sure you'll be okay with the small. I'm 5'6" and a size 8 with D/DD cup. Nighties I'll get a M no problem, but shirts I tend to get a L cause of my boobs. I really think you'll be okay with the S. Especially if it's a naughty nighty... they tend to be a bit more forgiving anyway, and it sounds like she's tall and slender with some curves. Now if it was pants... you'd better let HER do the ordering.

My wife wears a 0,1 or 3 depending on the fit. In VS she only wears an XS. The small is too big unless it is a sleepshirt or something.

Especially with this type of stuff. The size will be wrong, or the color, or you got something that makes her look like a ho, blah, blah, blah....

Do not go with a gift certificate though, do that and it is a guarantee that she will get something "comfortable" as opposed to sexy, unless you put this rule in place. Just to add, my wife's bday is coming up in Sept. and I am urging everyone to get a gift cert. so she can get new bras to fit her new boobs

Oh, yes you're right. For the life of me I was thinking size 28 waist. I actually wear a large size. I typically wear anything from a size 10 - 12 depending on how it runs. I have a 28 inch waist though.

Dude, if I ever find myself in that dubious position, I always order larger. Then, if it's too big you say, "I was worried that it would shrink in the wash."
