i just got my second pair of doc martens and boy are they comftorble, so much so that i just ordered another pair for backup. my first pair of docs were steel toe and they were every bit as comfy as a good pair of non-steel. im definatly sold on docs and i think they will be the only brand i ever buy ever again (the beer is talking), too bad their not made in england anymore but CHINA !!!!!

corcoran marauder jump boots.  I've worn them all through ROTC, and it will be a shame when i need to swap them out for leather flying boots when I get to UPT.

LL Bean Cresta Hikers.

After a few years, they fit like a sneaker, and have lots of life in them yet.

I have had great luck with Wolverine Durashocks. I have owned many pairs to include Danner, Redwing, and a few others. I prefer Wolverines over all of them.

A regular issue pair I purchased at the USMC issue store at MCAS El Toro.  They came with a mesh insert.  with good issue socks those damn things were great.

I still have them around here somewhere too.  That was thirty years ago and they are still comfy.

My early 80's USMC black Caddy's. They broke in like glove leather. With good cushion sole inserts they felt like sneakers.

I got two pair of combat boots while in the Marines from '77-'81. One pair I have worn off and on for the last 26 years. THEY are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn.

The other pair still look like the inspection boots I used them for! It wouldn't take but a few minutes work to raise a good Marine spit shine, but they are barely broken in.

Gripfast boots, the finest hippie stomping boot made.
TO POLISH

Step 1. Put on some Angus boot polish.
Step 2. Find a hippie wearing a COTTON tye dye shirt (must be cotton, don't want to scuff your boots on hemp cloth)
Step 3. Repeatedly kick said hippie, being careful to alternate boots and paying special attention to the cap toe until you get that mirror polish.
Step 4. Don't neglect to polish entire boot ,including heel.
