Well, I found scheduled tasks, but its to schedule a new one.... Nothing to cancel (disable) if thats what you were talking about.... Hmmmmm

You look in your startup tasks ? Start / Run / type msconfig <enter> under "startup" (I know, duhh..... Some ppl are blind, tho) See if it's set there to execute on boot. Unlikely, but you never know...... How old is the hard drive ? Maybe it's bout to take a shit on you ? Might be a warning you wanna heed

Checked msconfig....No go there They entire system is about a month old. Was a Christmas gift to myself.  If it gives me more crap, ill try the other HDD once more.....

On XP you can run chkntfs from a command prompt before you reboot. It will tell you if the disk is marked as dirty. You can use the /x option to override the check, but the disk is probably getting flagged for a reason.

Rename the chkdsk files to _old or something. Don't forget chkntfs. In W2K server, there is a registry key to kill the chkdsk. Not sure about on XP and the registry key escapes me now.
Never mind I just used it 2 days ago to save a cluster server.
