I bought a used GE washing machine this morning. It's supposedly about two years old. I got it home and hooked it up. everything seems fine, except hot water pours in no matter what. Even unplugged, hot water just keeps flowing in until I shut it off at the valve. Any ideas????

IM DrFrige, he is a good man and will be glad to help you.  Offer him a spider picture and he'll probably come over and fix it for you!

He does this kind of thing for a living.

Well if water keeps running with no pwer to the machine I would say the valve is stuck open, possibly dirt?  More than likely you will need to replace the valve/ solinoid assy.

In the rear , there is a fill switch, the level hose can fall off, sometimes and cause this. The switch [fill] can be bad too. Pull the back off and look about tub level.Hope this helps.

Sounds like a stuck hot water solenoid to me.  If there is no power to the machine (power plug unplugged) the water solenoids should be off.  If it is still on, then it's stuck or has something jamming it open.  I have had good luck getting parts and some information off this site>>  www.partselect.com/
