well, considering i have access to a good amount of the tools/ welding equipment, and machine shop stuff required to build de-milled toys...
what would the top 5 items to build be?
I am currently working on a 1919 and a fal...
i am hooked on the idea and want to build a few more toys as the cost is considerably less than retail

AK
FAL

Those are supposed to be the two easiest.  T

hen G-3s.  Then cetmes.

I've done a 1919 rebuild.  Well, I mostly watched or took orders...

You certainly learn alot about how the guns work this way.

AK, even as dumb as I am I was able to build a working rifle from a tapco flat and a romy G kit.

How did you bend your flat?

Jig or hammer and vise?

There was a two-issue pair of articles in shotgun news on how to make a legal semi-sten from a kit a few months ago.  I don't think it was easy.

Jig I made from angle Iron, and a hammer. I welded the trunnions to the reciever, and after a bit of tweeking and break in it runs great. Here is a pick of the jig I made

The BREN should be somewhere on the list.

Here is what I have done:

1919A4
AMD-65
Yugo M70AB
Yugo M95
Romanian AK

Here's what's on the "To Do" list:

Milled Yugo M70
Imbel FAL
Galil (once I get the parts ordered.)

AKs are stupid easy. A 1919 is right up there too. I've got videos on doing the G3 and it looks pretty easy as long as you are equipped to do one (and it sounds like you are) Just to warn you though, it is VERY addictive!!

ooh i know its sucking me in with the addiction...
i am looking for reliable fun to shoot rifles, i want to build a range gun that shoots milsurplus ammo like 8mm so as to cut down on range shooting when i just want to go out and blast some stuff, and not worry abut having to reload the empties

also, investment options are also being taken into account considering the current political climate

Then you better build an AK. Even at $160 for 1k rounds, you can't beat it. Hell, you can run an AK over with a truck and still shoot it. I don't think it gets more reliable than that.

i have an AK... only type of ak i would consider is a ak pistol or a veper
I thaught 8mm was cheap, like close to 100$ per 1K
damn, i wish i was into guns 10 years ago when ammo was cheap

8mm is very cheap right now. You are on the right track with the 1919. If you haven't found out yet, there are 8mm conversions for them that run really well. Some of the local C3 dealers have FA 1919's running on 8mm. Only problem is that surplus 8mm is almost all corrosive.

If it wasn't for the NFA, the STEN would be the easiest to build by far.
Muffler tube + parts kit = SMG

i am not affriad of cleaning my weapons to the extreme. i am quite anal about having each weapon as clean as i can get them. even with my ak or 22 range pistol

True, but if it wasn't for the NFA there'd probably be no gun control and we'd be buying imported machineguns for about $150-$250 each.  All those Yugo kits would be guns with happy switches!
