WASHINGTON — The 15-year-old who was fatally stabbed at the Deanwood Metro station Monday
and the man accused in his death knew each other and had a long-running
dispute, D.C. police said Tuesday. But the fatal confrontation, they
added, was the result of a chance encounter.

John Evans, 15, was stabbed in the neck after he passed through the
Metro fare gates around 11 a.m. Monday. A Metro Transit Police officer
performed CPR; emergency crews took Evans to a nearby hospital where he
was pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, police said they arrested Jovante Hall, 18, from
Northeast. He has been charged with second-degree murder while armed.

Assistant Police Chief Peter Newsham said the two knew each other and
had an ongoing dispute, but had happened to get on the same Metrorail
car.

"Another senseless murder,” Newsham called it. He added that, thanks
to surveillance video and information from the community, the arrest was
made about 10 hours after the stabbing.

Um, yea. Eight-TEEN. You can be a teen aged adult...not the same as being a child. This will blow your mind, but 19 also counts as a teenager.

Of course there are.  The guy that murdered his son's molester is one of many examples.

From the Washington Post:  "At the same station March 26, another 15-year-old, Davonte Washington, was fatally shot as he waited for a train with his mother and younger sisters. Police said the suspected shooter was apparently angry over a glance or a stare and shot the youth unprovoked as he was on his way for an Easter haircut.  Last year on July 4, a man was robbed and repeatedly stabbed aboard a Red Line train as passengers watched and the train traveled from the Rhode Island Avenue station to the NoMa-Gallaudet station. In the past several months, Metro passengers have expressed growing concern about youth violence after several attacks involving large groups."

Meh, I open carry in Metro all the time.  I live off King Street Metro and walk home.  No one has bothered me yet.

Court House to King Street, no issues at all.  Then walk down King, hang a right on Washington Blvd to Mt Vernon and walk another 5 mins. You all may recognize me; I wear a cape and a cane.

Sorry, but we've had tons of people here fail to acknowledge 18 and 19 as teens over the years I've been here.

You don't open carry in MD or DC for damn sure.  This incident wasn't on the VA side, where you CAN carry, so how that comment made any sense is beyond me.
